About Me

I am currently a postdoctoral researcher at Institute for Genomics and Evolutionary Medicine working with professor Maciej Boni on mathematical modeling of infectious diseases. The lab specializes in individual-based malaria simulation to plan interventions in response to the evolution of drug-resistant parasites. I graduated with a PhD in Computer Science from University of Illinois at Chicago specializing in Multi-Agent Artificial Intelligence. I completed my thesis under Professor Ian Kash. My doctoral research involves developing scalable algorithms to study communication and interaction among autonomous agents in partially observable and stochastic environments. More broadly, my research work revolves around extension and approximation of multi-agent automated decision making framework called Interactive Partially Observable Markov Decision Processes (IPOMDPs). My research interests are Decision Theoretic planning, Reinforcement Learning, Multi-Agent Systems, and Computational Epidemiology. Before joining PhD program, I spent more than 3 years in the industry working as a software engineer. I received my Bachelor's in Computer Engineering from Institute of Engineering, Central Campus, Tribhuvan University.
